Club World is the business class product on British Airways long-haul flights. On short-haul flights it is Club Europe, and a different product.

When Club World was first introduced, it raised the bar for business class worldwide. It was the first fully-flat seat, and even today the innovative "Ying/ Yang" design (where some seats face backwards) is unique.

Club World is in the process of finishing being upgraded, but both the old and the new seat are fully flat. The new Club World has a seat pitch of 73 inches, and a seat cushion width of 20 inches. The angle of maximum seat recline is 180 degrees, and the overall length of seat when fully reclined is a 6ft (183cm) flat bed.

At the same time as upgrading the seats, BA also took the opportunity to install new Inflight Entertainment (IFE) whcih is audio and video on demand AVOD. Interestingly, although the 767 fleet received this, it didn't get the new Club World seating. Tough luck if you fly to Africa, but then the 767 fleet will be phased out during 2010-2014.

Although all ClubWorld seats are the same, people have preferences as to whether they like to fly next to the window (though these seats are backward facing) or on the aisle (forward facing, but sometimes subject to disturbance). We have specific notes on what we - and you - think are the best seats on the individual aircraft pages - simply look for the aircraft you are flying on and then choose the Clubworld page. There are also detailed editorial reviews under the Tried & Tested section (above).

eirtraveller flew British Airways Club World, on a B747-400 Mid J

My flight outbound to the West Coast was generally fine - the food has definitely improved with the 'Height Cusine' innovations, but the service was not what I would call customer-centric. As I usually sit in 62K on the Upper Deck, one faces the 2 cabin crew seats for take off and landing. This literally forces you to listen to the 'chat' for quite a period. On the... more

Thanks to overbooking and a cancelled flight the day before, my husband and I were lucky enough to be upgraded to Club World on our flight back from London. Having flown World Traveler on the inbound flight this was a HUGE upgrade! This was brilliant on their part because now we will never fly anything other than business class again. Thee wonderful BA crew never... more
