UPDATE March 23 2011: Bmi is to install new short-haul seating on its A319 and A320 aircraft, along with new carpets, curtains, bulkheads and a “dynamic new lighting system”, by summer 2011. Assuming the new seats are configured in a similar manner to that on Lufthansa and Austrian’s A320 family aircraft, they will offer passengers up to 10cm more space for legs and knees.

What you get in Bmi's business cabin largely depends on how recent the aircraft is. The older Airbus fleet offers a more comfortable 3-2 configuration, but commercial realities mean that newer aircraft are 3-3.
