Virgin Atlantic has a total of 13 B747-400 aircraft, five of which are at London Heathrow (LHR), with the rest at Manchester (MAN) and Gatwick (LGW).
Those aircraft at MAN or LGW have a bigger economy section than those at LHR, as they are mainly used on leisure routes such as the Caribbean. If you are flying from either MAN or LGW and want to know which aircraft you are likely to be flying on, visit the excellent V-flyer website here.
The layout of these 747s have a small Upper Class cabin, with Premium Economy taking up the entire upstairs floorspace, as these are used on economy-dominated leisure routes such as Orlando.
