United Airlines is currently upgrading its first class seating. Passengers on Boeing 767, 747 or 777 aircraft will soon get the United First Suite,
the type of first class seat that has now become the industry standard,
i.e. a large completely flat bed. This cabin is currently being upgraded and as of December 2008, 50% of the 767 and a quarter of the 747 fleet had been completed. Work is due to start on the 777s in September 2009. For e review of the new United First Class, click here
Meanwhile, United offers an older style personal video system on these aircraft offering only nine channels, but augments this with personal video players that bring another 14 feature films.

Was upgraded to First, which was great, as this is the old 777 configuration that United can't seem to get updated. A tired, old plane, but first class is nice. Coming home I was on the same config, and wasn't able to upgrade, so I flew in the recliner business class seat. It really doesn't compare to anyone else's business class and should be a much lower price. more

Very friendly and attentive service. Old-style First Suite seats - clean and comfortable. Busy galley at the front of the first cabin. No cabin curtains at either end of the cabin giving it a purely functional rather than a refined air. Small screen with a limited selection of manually operated video tapes.
