Thai Smile Air

Thai Smile Air (airline code TG) is a budget airline subsidiary of Thai Airways based at Bangkok's Suvarnabhumi Airport. It is set to begin flying in July 2012.

It is distinct from Thai's other low cost airline, Nok Air, which operates from Bangkok's Don Mueang Airport and from Thai Wings, Thai Airways' regional subsidiary that operates from Suvarnabhumi Airport.

Ownership

Thai Smile Air is wholly-owned by Thai Airways.

Route Network

Thai Smile Air will operate on routes that are typically less than two hours' flying from Bangkok. It will initially fly to domestic Thailand destinations such as Ubon Ratchathani, Khon Kaen, Chiang Rai, and Surat Thani, starting July 2012, with the view to operating internationally in 2013.

Other Information

Thai Smile Air will offer connectivity with Thai Airways flights and will use Thai's TG code. The airline will use a fleet of 11 Airbus 320 aircraft with 174 seating capacity. Ticket sales will begin in early 2012.
