Thai Airways introduced Premium Economy onto its small fleet of Airbus A340-500 aircraft that originally flew only very long non-stop routes, such as Bangkok to Los Angeles.

After halting its Bangkok-New York service, these long-range aircraft have appeared on other routes. The premium economy cabin on them is configured 2-3-2. Seats are 19 inches wide and have a generous 42-inch pitch, four inches more than standard premium economy.

There are seat-back TVs with full on demand entertainment systems and seats have a recline of 122 degrees. There is also an in-seat power point.

All these aircraft are for sale, so may leave the Thai fleet, along with the airline's only premium economy offering.
