Syrian Air (airline code RB) was established in autumn 1946 and is based in Damascus.

Ownership

The airline is wholly-owned by the Syrian government.

Syrian Air has a fleet of modern Airbus A320s that it uses on its most important routes, but it also has some much older Boeing aircraft that are gradually being mothballed. The airline has some new generation Russian airliners on order.
