Malaysian Airlines has six Airbus A380 superjumbo aircraft on order. The first delivery arrives in mid- 2012, five years after the initial expected delivery date.

The double-decker aircraft will consist of a total of 494 seats in three classes: eight first class and 350 economy class seats will occupy the main deck, while the upper deck will feature 66 business class seats and an additional 70 economy class seats.

The aircraft’s launch route will be the Kuala Lumpur-London service, three times a week.

By the end of August 2012, the carrier is scheduled to receive its second A380, which will also be deployed on flights to London in order to offer daily operations with this aircraft, while the third A380 will be used on the Kuala Lumpur-Sydney route, although it has not been revealed when the third aircraft will be delivered.
