Boarding was swift and efficient. My coat taken from me very quickly.

Only German newspapers were available and OJ, water and champagne offered.

An on time departure was followed by two drinks services with nuts and then lunch.

I was in 24G which would have been a good seat if it was not for the baby beside me.

The only other downside was that it was always the last seat to be served and by the time it got to me there was no choice.

A starter of sesame tuna with noodles (I later noticed everyone else also had a salad by mine was missing), beef in soy and ginger and with noodles and a choice of cheese and desserts.

Halfway through the flight was a choice of cake, fruit and sandwich and then just before landing an evening meal.

No menu was given out and I was presented with a roll, beef stroganoff and a dessert.

The advanatge of the back cabin is that it is quieter as there is no standing around space although the crew do walk through a lot as the galley just in front is the main galley. There is also one toliet here but far enough away as not to be a nuisance. Whilst it did not effect me a couple of people were having problems with the laptop power which they were complaining cut out after about ten minutes. I overheard one of the crew saying it was a regular problem so bring a spare battery!!

It's amazing for a leading airline like Lufthansa that they do not have a proper flat bed. This one is lie flat but sloping! IFE was easy to use and had a good, if not that wide, choice of films etc.
