I flew between Frankfurt and Los Angeles with Lufthansa A340-600, the duration was about 11 h 30 min, so the entertainment onboard was great, I could not sleep so I watched 4 movies and some tv series. The service was great, but the seats were not that great.

I have a hard time sleeping in a lie-flight on in incline and, for the money, market forces should dictate a "real" sleeper in business for the NYC to Frankfurt route. Lufthansa, however, needs to segment to market for the 4 First Class seats in front, so business gets the incline. The seat was otherwise comfortable, movie selection was OK, the amenity kit rather meagre. The meal was fine and service was excellent. The Lufthansa website has long been ground-breaking and transfer at Munich is among the most efficient of any major airport.

I have flown Lufthansa and their A340-300's a couple of times and I've been pretty satisfied. These two times I have flown it so far I have gone from Dusseldorf to New York and have really enjoyed it. Once we got fogged in and were forced to spend the night in Dusseldorf ( I connect from Sweden ). We got a really luxury hotel and free meals at the hotel. Lufthansa paid for all this and it gave us a day to see Dusseldorf. The flight's there great and if you can find a cheap flight with them I would recommend it!
