For general notes on Lufthansa's economy class product, click here.
Economy seating on the A340 is configured 2-4-2 (A,C - D,E,F,G - H,K), although some is 2-3-2, when seat F is missing. The cabin is split into two and while there are exits in front of the second section, a bulkhead blocks what could be extra legroom. The very front of economy, however, may offer some hope of stretching out.
The seats around row 38 may best be avoided, as they are near the stairs that access the washrooms below the passenger deck.
Lufthansa is in the process of fitting its aircraft with individual seatback screens in economy. According to Lufthansa, the Airbus fleet will be fitted first with the Boeings following at a later date. Once fitted, economy passengers will have individual seatback screens with touch-screen navigation and a choice of up to ten films, as well as radio programmes and music magazines.
A new economy class product is being fitted on Lufthansa's fleet of A380s, the first of which is due to arrive in April 2010, and this will then be retrofitted on its older aircraft.
