More
NB: Lufthansa has embarked on a major refresh of it short and medium haul seating. In total over 32,000 seats will be refitted, with a new Recaro seat. As this process continues it is difficult to be sure whether you will find the old or new seating on board, so we have included both types in the following information.
Previously, all Lufthansa’s short-haul economy class seats have a pitch of 31-32 inches except its Airbus A320 and 321s, which have a roomy 34 inches. Seats are all 17.5 inches (44cm) wide and recline 20 degrees from vertical.
Entertainment is via overhead screens on Airbus aircraft, but older Boeings have no system. Lufthansa remains a full-service carrier and you will receive some sort of free food and drink during your flight.
On flights of more than three hours there is a choice between a meat dish and a vegetarian option.
On all other, shorter flights passengers are served with cold snacks. On very short domestic flights within Germany there is only time for a limited service of hot or cold drinks.

Manchester to Dusseldorf operated by Eurowings. Terminal 1 is a spacious, airy place, but Lufthansa were pushed into (or were only prepared to pay for) a tiny corridor. Our check-in desks were 60-64 of which only two were manned, and one of those were for business class. The self check in kiosks didn't seem to work. Around 200 people / passengers were milling about for... more
