Business class on Lufthansa Italia is configured 2-2, with the normal economy seat being extended and the middle seat becoming a table. The seat pitch is 31 to 33 inches and the recline 20 degrees, the latter being the same as economy. As in economy, there is no entertainment system.

Lufthansa has tried to give its Milan-based subsidiary an Italian twist. Business class meals include ravioli stuffed with gorgonzola with pumpkin sauce or veal cutlets with gnocchi and lemon sauce.

The business class lounge at Milan Malpensa has been refurbished and business class passengers get fast track passage through security.

Boarding was smooth, but as usual at MXP there was no separate Business Class boarding and we were left waiting on a bus whose driver seemed to be averse to air-conditioning! An on time departure, with the wheels leaving the tarmac according to the timetable, I was sitting by myself in row 1 next to the window (my preferred seat) in which the middle seat is left free... more
