Iberia's long haul economy cabin, known as Intercontinental, has a seat pitch of 81cm (32''), a seat width of 43 cm (17''), and a recline of 15cm (6'').
The carrier revamped its economy class offering in 2009 with an enhanced meal service, including new dishes, larger portions and higher-quality ingredients. It claims that: "Lunch and dinner offerings are more elaborate, and beverages, nuts, sweets, and sandwiches are available between meals. There is also a newly designed breakfast and brunch format –a box containing a sandwich or croissant, rolls, fresh fruit, and a chocolate sweet. The format will minimise serving time and will reduce passenger inconvenience."
Mealsl begin with a selection of salads, such as cous-cous with crab, tuna and carrot, potato or cherry tomato. There is a choice of two hot entrees, including meatballs in tomato sauce, fideuá (noodle paella), vegetarian hamburger or pasta with mushrooms, among others. Desserts include red berry pie, brownies with raisins and cherries, cheesecake and orange or chocolate sponge cake.
Long-haul tourist-class passengers also have a new breakfast and lunch service format – a sandwich or croissant with filling, breakfast rolls, fresh fruit and chocolate sweets.
Iberia claims the new format reduces serving time and passenger inconvenience and that the passenger can keep the box to open later, since the contents are wrapped to stay fresh.
Between meals, tourist-class passengers will be offered water, fruit juice, nuts, chocolate sweets or sandwiches, depending on the flight time.

Worst flights of my life! The flight was Geneva-Madrid-Santiago de Chile-Madrid-Geneva, for an hour and a half is pretty good but for fifteen hours is horrible! Old seats, no personal entertainment system, cabin crew not really nice. I would never wish to someone to fly with Iberia! Always delayed and very bad food. more

First time flew Iberia from Madrid to Havana, Cuba. Overall experience was really unpleasant, leg room was little, seats totally lacked comfort and staff were way too edgy, rude and unprofessional. Made a mental note to avoid this airline in future. more
