Other Information
- Germanwings' flights are also sold on bmibaby's website, as both budget airlines are owned by Lufthansa.
- The carrier operates a standard fleet of Airbus A319s with an all-economy layout, however it has recently installed new ultra-slim seating across its fleet, with the first ten rows of the aircraft now offering extra legroom.
- Seats within the new Best Seat zone offer a seat pitch of 32 inches (compared to the normal 29 inches), and can be booked for a €15 surcharge (one-way), also including one piece of checked luggage and an onboard snack and drink.
- All seats on Germanwings are pre allocated, avoiding the crush associated with other low cost carriers. However it does cost €8 to select your preferred seat.
Business travellers or those wanting more flexibility also have the option to purchase Flex fares, which allow free ticket changes, cancellations (for a surcharge), as well as the Best fare benefits.
Germanwings also operates the Boomerang Club frequent flier programme. For more details, click here.
