Flybe (airline code BE) is a regional budget airline based in Exeter, South West England.
Ownership
Rosedale Aviation Holdings owns 69%, Flybe staff 16% and British Airways 15%. Flybe began life at Jersey European Airways in 1979 and was rebranded twice, as British European in 2000 and Flybe in 2002.
Route Network
Flybe is based at Exeter airport, but its major operation is at Southampton airport. It offers more than 190 routes to 13 European countries. Flybe is also the biggest carrier at Birmingham airport in terms of aircraft movements and has a significant presence throughout Scotland via its franchise partnership with Loganair, which was sealed in 2008. This means that Loganair operates many flights for Flybe under the Flybe branding.
Flybe also underwent major expansion in 2006 when it acquired BA Connect, the former British Airways regional airline. To see where Flybe flies, click here.
