Flight search
Firefly (airline code FY) is a full service regional carrier owned by Malaysia Airlines and based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. It operates a small fleet of turbo prop aircraft.
Ownership
Firefly is a 100%-owned subsidiary of Malaysian Airlines but is managed separately from offices in the Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport in Subang, Selangor. The airline started operations in 2007.
Route Network
Firefly operates from three hubs in Malaysia. They include Kuala Lumpur's main airport (separate from that used by Air Asia, which has its own budget terminal away from the main facility).
The other hubs are at Penang and Subang. The carrier serves destinations in Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia and Thailand, the latter including the popular tourist locations of Koh Samui and Phuket. Further expansion opportunities are being discussed.
