Seating configuration in economy on the A340-500 is 2-4-2 (A,B - D,E,F,G - J,K).
As you can see from the seat plan, the three seats in Row 15 (D, E and F) and then the seats in row 16 that have only the bulkhead in front (A and B, and J and K) are worth trying for.
Moving further back in the cabin, the same applies to Row 23 (D, E and F) and row 24 (A, B) and (J ,K).
The IFE system on Emirates is rightly celebrated, but it comes at a cost - the equipment box under the first row in each economy cabin. If you are in the bulkhead row, this won't bother you, because it's under your seat, but for this reason avoid the row behind the bulkhead because of restricted leg room.
On this configuration, it is row 16 (middle seats E and F) and row 17, then 24 (middle seats E and F) and row 25.
In addition, window seats (A and J) and the middle seats (E and F) also have boxes under them.
