Travelling throughout the year to many places using several different airlines, using business on long haul and economy on short, It's very simple to review Easyjet.
As usual, last flights with Easyjet, albeit only to Faro and back within 24 hours, they are competitive with very friendly and customer orientated cabin and flight deck crew.
Downside - as previously reported, the boarding process lets them down with having no complete seat allocation system - it's basically third world antagonistic queing. I see the uneccessary stress with many passengers every time pre boarding. There is no need for this today.
Get rid of the O'Leary type of pathetic 'doing the customer a favour' attitude with the archaic boarding process and EASYJET will probably be THE BEST budget airline, even if it costs a couple of pounds more on the initial ticket price.
So a CHALLENGE to Easyjet: Introduce full allocated seat boarding within the price and maybe more, no, not maybe, MORE will definitely travel ORANGE rather than the arrogant Blue and Yellow so called competitor.
Always Easyjet FIRST for me - many thanks to all the crew.

I fly Easyjet quite often.
They are always clean and comfortable with among the best crew around!
The only down side is not having allocated seating which results in a pushing match with other passengers. I notice they are going to trial allocated seating, lets hope the bring this out as a full feature.
I always find the aircraft clean and welcoming and the crew are fun, interested in their passengers and provide a great service.
The airbus aircraft are wonderfully comfortable and smooth inflight.
You do have to remember they are a low cost carrier when leaving reviews but personally I find the amount paid is fantastic for the service.

Flight from Amsterdam to gatwick in the evening. Boarding was an absolute mess and literally a stampede to the plane getting smashed by wheelie bags as people ran to try to get a seat whilst crashing into everyone else. Not pleasant at all. Cattle are treated better. Allocating seating would make boarding a far better experience. Holding passengers in a cramped pen with no seating and then cramming them in until they are worked up into a stampede may be great for turnaround times but is an awful way to treat people
Seats are cramped and no recline at all.

As with many budget airlines, the more seats on the airplane the better for them and this is certainly the case with easyjet, slightly less legroom than Ryanair, probally around 29-30" pitch, anyone over 6ft could be in a spot of bother. Would only ever use them on short haul journeys under 2hrs. You get what you pay for1

This was the first time I have tried Easyjet in over 7 years and I must say I was pleasantly surprised. We flew from Gatwick to Seville and back 3 days later, both ways on the Airbus A319.
As we had already checked in for the outbound flight we proceeded straight to the Speedy Boarding bag drop (We had already paid this in advance), which had no queue at all and were on our way through security within 5 minutes.
For our return flight we had to check in at Seville Airport (online check in is not available here), this was the real benefit to us as they only had two check in desks for the flight, one of which for speedy boarders which saved us a lot of time.
Both flights were comfortable despite being relatively full, we got seats 1 A and B, for the outbound, lots of space here at the front of the cabin and had benefit of being first off the flight at Seville. On the return sat in 1 E and F, not quite as much room but still plenty of space. The fact the seats do not recline is a godsend as it means the small space you have is yours and you will not lose it due to another selfish passenger.
Food and drink prices were the norm for low cost but the quality was ok with the Hot drinks being Starbucks branded and quite nice. The bacon roll, whilst soggy had plenty of bacon and was hot and did the trick on an early flight.
Cabin crew were fantastic on both flights, they were friendly and professional on both flights and were a credit to the airline.
Punctuality couldn't be faulted either on these flights and we were over 30 minutes early getting into Seville and 10 early getting into Gatwick.
Easyjet did what we wanted, got us away for a few days and back safely, ontime and made the journey quite pleasant, more so than previous experiences with their big irish rivals ever have, so will get more business from us going forward.

With speedy boarding and priority check-in, we got the seats we wanted (emergency exit half way down the plane). Staff all ok, but the food and beverage selection has been the same for so long now - it's tired and needs changing. Seats are ok, but 3 hours max before aching backside syndrome kicks in - wouldn't like to go to Jordan or Egypt...
Slightly late getting going, but arrived pretty much on time. Baggage arrived quickly - the beauty of a small airport, although some bags had split (not ours). Easyjet continues to provide a cost effective service on shorthaul routes. Thumbs up.

Nice to London Gatwick 12th July 2011
The only bad thing about travelling to the Côte d'Azur is that easyJet are the only airline to fly from Gatwick, so if you live near Gatwick you have no choice but to pay extortionate fare that easyJet charge for the short flight to Nice.
I have flown with easyJet many times and each time it seems to get worse. This time was definitely the worst.
Check-in at Nice is always quiet and dropping your bags off and going through security took no time at all. The departure gate was up on the board early which is always good to try and get near to the front of the queue for boarding, however we had to stand in a queue for half an hour to get through passport control to get to this gate which wasn't ideal. Then after we did that, the departure gate suddenly changed and there was a mad dash to get to the new gate, and then it happened again with another mad dash.
Finally after waiting at the right gate for 20 minutes they announced they were going to start boarding. Well this queue didnt move for at least another 20 minutes, which becomes a little bit boring especially when everyone is trying to push in front of you to get nearer to the front. Boarding the plane was a slow process aswell, and the flight was full, so to get two seats next to eachother we had to fight our way to the back to find two seats next to eachother. (People think its fair to leave a seat in the middle of the rows for some poor soul to squeeze into, while their wife is sat right at the back next to the toilets.)
Easyjet really need to sort out their seating arrangements because having to worry about what seat you are going to/ not going to get takes all the pleasure and ease out of flying.
However, this was not the worst part of my easyJet experience. Take off was fine, and the Captain did announce that we may experience some turbulance over France because of the clouds and wind. When the Captain said "some turbulance", I think he meant to say " there will be so much turbulance that the seatbelt signs will only be turned off for 5 minutes on a 95 minute flight." This was the worst experience of turbulance I have seen. The cabin crew started the hot drinks service, but we were told we could only receive our drinks if we pay for them now and be served when the turbulance had calmed down. After 10 minutes we got our drinks, only for the turbulance to start again and hot water was spilling everywhere. The cabin crew really should not have served these drinks, especially when the woman sitting behind me had hot coffee split over her and wasn't even allowed to get up and clean herself.
Finally after an awful bumpy we ride we started to make our approach into Gatwick. Being such a nervous flyer, this was the moment I had waited for all day. However, my worst nightmare came true!!!!
We landed with a tremendous thud and bump, only to suddenly shoot down the runway again and take off!
I couldn't believe my luck. The whole plane was silent because we didnt know what was going on. One minute we had landed, the next minute we were thousands of feet in the air again. What made it worse was the pilot didn't announce anything for at least 10 minutes, making everyone nervous. Finally he announced that he had to abort the landing because of a wind pocket. A lot of people on board did not believe this story.
After circling the area for 10 minutes we finally made another descent, with a loud thud when we hit the runway with a shake and a wobble and luckily this time we stopped (the fire engines were waiting there anyway for precaution!).
Everyone was silent, and took a sigh of relief when we had come to a stop, and we got off the plane to take the long walk to passport control at Gatwick. Luckily the luggage was there waiting for us (in a pile on the floor because the conveyor belt had become jammed)
Easyjet- never again by choice. Bring back Aer Lingus LGW-NCE. If not, I might have to fork out to fly BA from Heathrow.

Having a Friendly Cabin Crew and Flight Deck is always a good omen, especially when on the early flights. On the 18 May, 06.45 flight to Faro from Stansted, the whole crew were particularly confident and friendly.
With that confidence instilled throughout the flight with flight deck updates on flight progress and weather, it transpired that the other passengers were also instilled with confidence as we started our decent and approach to Faro.
Well, it was probably Faro's biggest storm for a long time. We were buffeted from side to side and up and down. The outside was black, interupted with regular flashes of lightning. Knowing what the guys up front have to go through in their 6 monthly SIM tests, my confidence with these guys to get us done safely was never really in doubt but I knew they were facing a busy task.
Thankfully the flight deck did a great job and as the days after progressed, I learnt that we were the last plan to land owing to the severity of the storm, so well done.
As a footnote, though a frequent business class flyer to far off places, including Hong Kong, Las Vegas and Cape Town, I am very happy with the Easyjet service for short haul. For some to compare LOW COST airlines with long haul is not a fair judgement. Now compare Easyjet with Ryanair, then you have another issue. I'm just very pleased I can choose, like many others, to choose the orange and not to use the blue and yellow brand.
Again, WELL DONE Flight 3287 on 18 May 2011.

Three words to describe Easyjet? Brilliant Brilliant and Briliant. I use them regularly and have NEVER been delayed or unhappy. You pay your pittance to fly and you FLY. What can be simpler? You don’t get people writing reviews about local bus services do you? Easyjet is a bus service. If you want 2 miles of legroom and a kipper served for brekky then fly with BA and pay £380 for the same flight you pay Easyjet £56.00 for.
How people can moan about Easyjet is beyond me. You gets what you pays for people. Great young fleet of aircraft, well trained cabin crew and the pilots know what they are doing too. Out of 10 for a 5* airline? 3! Out of 10 for a budget airline? 11. Thanks.

London Stansted to Tallinn, with speedy boarding
I chose to fly out with Easyjet and back with Ryanair, and I have to say that the former is worth paying that little extra for. Ryanair is (pardon the expression) dirt cheap, and you get what you pay for. Easyjet on the other hand is a little more expensive, but it's a small price to pay for the friendly service, the relatively clean, modern aircraft and the convenient flight times/destinations.
Having checked in online, progress through Stansted was quick. I had banked on this having set off from central London with little time to spare. I took the Stansted Express from Tottenham Hale, rather than Liverpool, a journey of around 45 minutes with no delays (thankfully).
The queue at the boarding gate was vast, however I was fortunate enough to have speedy boarding. In the past I have avoided paying for the luxury of speedy boarding, and while it's perhaps unnecessary (just remember to get to the airport in plenty of time), skipping the queue is always a wonderful feeling. I was able to get seat 1C, arguably the best seat for speedy disembarkation and legroom.
The flight left a little late but no major delays, and we arrived just 10mins after the scheduled time. The selection of food and drink, while not exhaustive, is ample if you're willing to spend the money. I had the croque-monsieur on a previous flight, for example, and it was delicious. The warm offering this time was a four cheese pizza for about £5.

I was in Gatwick, my nightmare airport. The airport was crowded but we got through security quickly. Then we waited for speedy boarding to go first (no one was in it) and we got in the plane.
About 3 minutes after boarding they announced a 4 hour delay. At last after an hour they let us out, I saw a Monarch plane with the same delay three hours through the delay and were not let out yet they didn't look as though they were going to get out.
Once we had taken off to it was back to normal nice food, quick but slightly over priced and a normal flight I did think Easyjet tried their best even though it wasn't my bast flight of all

I fly on Easyjet very often on business and due to home's proximity to Gatwick Airport. Consequently I have flown on A319 and A320, the latter being their "long haul" aircraft. I would start with the easy Boarding which often has proved NOT easy at all ! I can recall at least 4 trips within 2009, when speedy boarders were left to board with Group 2, because they simply couldn't get past the impatient hordes of group 2 boarders. Their A319 aircrafts are in general clean but the seats lack comfort and do not recline. On the A320 some of the seats do recline. The service is usually OK, although one would have to pay through the nose to get an almost tasteless sandwich or Panini. I suppose that's how they make money... I would avoid them on a long flight, such as to Cyprus for example. If you are unlucky enough to fly on the A319, you will struggle badly to have some rest and relax your muscles even a wee bit! I have flown from Cyprus twice so far and flying on the Easyjet A319 for nearly 5hrs was one of the worst experiences I have ever had!

Berlin Shoenfeld to London Luton 11th March 2010 21.40 pm local time.
I had been at an event in Berlin which meant that I was limited of what I saw of the beautiful city. I decided that I had plenty of time to get to the airport by taking the train, this would allow me to at least see some of the city, and I must say I am glad I did.
When finding out the times and best trains to take, I asked a friendly German guy about how long the journey takes and what to do if the train is late. He simply replied " the trains are never late", and coming from the UK this was both refreshing and frankly unbelievable.
So I arrived at Shoeneld airport exactly on time, breezed through Check in, breezed through Security, and despite being slightly later in boarding and taking off there were no other problems to report, really.
Once on board I managed to secure a seat at the front of the plane, these have more legroom than most of the other seats so I was relieved. Buckled up for take off, the flight attendant although trying to disguise it was clearly tired and certainly at the end of her tether in terms of customer service. In a way I sympathise that it must be tiring, but likewise even on a no-frills airline you expect a certain degree of friendly body language, and a smile.
The time we were late in taking off was made up in the air, and I landed right on time at Luton. A couple of my colleagues were scheduled to be on an earlier flight into Gatwick which was delayed by 5 hours meaning that unfortunately as they were boarding, this meant that I was already in the UK.
At Luton they have a new system which effectively means that it's pretty slow getting through passport control, in fact if you time it wrongly and are there after a coach has dropped passengers off then you can expect at least a 20 minute wait. I waited and luckily it was only about 12 minutes before I was through. The first obvious signal that I was back in the UK was a delay to my train taking me back to North west London, typical.
One word of caution: The Shuttle bus which takes passengers from the train station to the airport has started charging! This doesn't seem to be all the time, but on my outgoing flight I was charged £1.50 and on the way back nothing at all. But if you don't have the change, or indeed any cash at all, they stop you getting on the coach which could of course mean you missing a flight.
Once again its difficult to fault Easyjet, who seem to have cornered the market on a lot of routes now.
Just beware of the the things which you don't expect like the bus charge and if you pay for speedy boarding then beware of having to take the bus to the plane, effectively this renders the speedy boarding pointless.

A very punctual, very enjoyable flight to Berlin Shoenfeld from London Luton. I arrived at London Luton with an hour to spare which is always good especially with Easyjet's strict policy. I bought a magazine, had a bagel and before I knew it the flight was being called.
I was stood right by the entrance to departures and managed to be one of the first people down at the gate. There were about 15 speedy boarders who obviously get on the plane first, but I elected not to pay for speedy boarding as I don't normally have a problem despite my extreme height (6'7"), as the exit seats are generally free.
The last passenger to get on the plane was a woman around 6'4" in height who insisted on making a fellow female passenger move, which I thought was disgusting as if anyone should have the audacity to do that, then it should be me!!! Fellow passengers rounded on her for doing this, and her actions meant effectively splitting up a group who were together and had paid the £8 speedy boarding charge.
Arrived in Berlin approx 20 mins ahead of schedule which was great and were out and through security in 10 mins including collecting the bag I checked in.
I cant help feeling sorry for Ryanair passengers on the same route when things go so smoothly on Easyjet.

Flew from LGW at 8am on a Sunday morning, to Prague .
Cant fault the checkin which had started even earlier than expected, I had one bag, well under the weight limit .
The flight iteslf although almost full, was comfortable as i managed to get an exit seat over the wing . Being 6.7" (or 198cms) this can make or break a flight for me.
Landed in Prague bang on time, bags were collected quickly .
Prague to LGW :-
Checked in , tried to buy speedy boarding, was told by the handling agent that i needed to also pay for speedy boarding for the passenger who was no longer travelling with me! i challenged the very unhelpful girl who kept repeating like a parrot that i had to pay for the absent passenger ! i therefore declined paying for the absentee and took my chances in the free for all . The check in girl put me into class a boarding which means only those with Special assistance and speedy boarders go ahead of you. i was very relieved and lucky to obtain another exit seat as i did on my outward journey.
All in all i couldnt really fault the flight, the service or the punctuality , I would certainly fly with easyjet on this route again .

LGW-NCE, checked in online so got group A for boarding, worth having because we boarded by airbridge. For group A always tag along with Speedy Boarding (SB) and (SA) - families and those needing assistance. That way you get on straight after them and head for rows 1-7, aisle seat for quick departure at the other end (provided you;ve got hand luggage only, otherwise why bother?). Good service.

General advice: avoid check-in at desks, and while at the gate ensure that you stand near the exit desk. Be one of the first after speedy boarding and SA (special assistance - families) Once on board, always try and get the very first row (row1) - any of those seats or aisle seats either side up to row 10.

Flew to and from Malta on Easyjet. The A321 certainly crams them in, but the seats do recline so it's not too uncomfortable, even on a 3-hour flight sector. I think these planes were once GB AIrways, though presumably not with 200+ seats. The able-bodied all head for the emergency exit rows (10, 23 and 24) but we were fine towards the back of the aircraft in a window and aisle seat (our child was between us). Those with children have priority boarding just after those who have paid for speedy boarding and ahead of group A. On the way out from Gatwick we went on via an airbridge so it was well worth having. A good service.

I was in row 8, by the window on the right side of the plane. I'm 6' and legroom was minimal so I couldn't nap without resting my knees against the bloke's next to me. And the seats don't recline.
As a friend pointed out, leather seats are much nicer, they just feel cleaner. EasyJet's seats feel well worn in.
No-frills is about right, with a tiny bottle of water costing £1.50. At least I got ice, and I was thankful for it. Extra water for free. I was assured by the African child on the bottle that 5p of my £1.50 would go to him.
The food, although expensive, did look good and there was a decent choice. I suppose that trumps BA, where you get a choice of two sandwiches on a comparable flight.
Baggage claim was very quick.
