kelvinchan0930 flew Dragonair Economy, on a A320-200 (26/07/2010 11:11)

Travelling from Hong Kong to Phnom Penh with A320-200(B-HSM). Loading is just around 75% and so it is quite comfortable. Shortly after take off, meal was provided. The choice was either fried Chinese noddles or beacon with scrambled egg. I chose the western meal and it was very nice! I even asked the crew to give me one more bread to eat with the egg! Everything is nice except that this is an A320-200 aircraft, which means there are no in-flight entertainment. I only read some free magazines provided and newspaper throughout the whole journey. Overall, it is really a fantastic trip!

HKG to PVG Quite confuse during check-in. I booked codeshare flight via Cathay Pacific online, so I thought I should go to Cathay counter. But it turns out that I was not able to check-in there and requested to go to Dragonair instead.

HK airport has newly opened a new boarding concourse named "north satellite", which mainly serves small planes. Since it is far from the main concourse where I could not spend much time in the airport lounge and needed to leave earlier. Not quite happy that it took me additional time to go there and waited for 45 mins before boarding due to flight delay.

Understand that the punctuality is generally good for Dragonair and the delay should be caused by PVG airport, but I think Dragonair could be more considerate for passengers not to get so far while they could spend more time in the main concourse instead.

I took the seat 43A window seat but I was in between 2 windows and got to lean over to see the view outside.

Food is excellent. The Chinese dim sum is good with dessert Haggen dazs ice-cream. Very attentive service with a bottle of water in each seat pocket.

Service was generally good and had instant response from CA.

kelvinchan0930 flew Dragonair Economy, on a A330-300 (Type 3) (23/04/2010 05:51)

Flying from Hong Kong to Shanghai. Surprised to see Dragonair using a long-haul flight with PTV on this only 2hr40min leg.

My seat is 34H. The seat is one of the best I have ever had. The entertainment is enough for a short-haul flight as there are more than 10 channels of clips broadcasting.

Also, meal provided is joint-cooperating by a famous restaurant in Hong Kong. It is tottaly amusing and excellelent. Service are nice and I see the smily faces on every cabin crew.

Only one bad thing is that punctuality is not too good. Previously I was booking the flight KA834 but it was cancelled and diverted to KA890. Though, overall performance is very good!

I was flying from Hong Kong to Fukuoka, Japan, 3 hours. My flight Number was KA316, ship was A320 . But this flight suspend now because of economic downturn. This flight, I was boarding business class, and seat number was 11A. Dragonair’s A320 8 seats business class, There was very small section at business class, and these seats have only music service. And these seats do not have personnel TV. But I think Dragonair’s A320 did not fly long flight, so this equipment, seat pitch were enough. This seat, it seems to be Japanese Domestic Flight, `Super Seat’ service. However, Superseat service now end because JAL and ANA were upgrade premium service.

Dragon flight crew was very friendly, and excellent service. KA316 had 3 Japanese crew member, so I think non English speaking people was not worry until flight. I disappointed suspend Dragonair service Fukuoka to Hong Kong, but Cathay Pacific daily fly to Hong Kong from Fukuoka via Taipei , so I will continue enjoying high grade service CX.

Hong Kong to Beijing (3 hrs). Seat 25D. A good seat towards the front of the cabin. The bulkhead seats are row 22 are best. Seats C, E & H have small boxes attached to a chair leg but are not too big as to be a problem. Boarding was swift although everyone seemed to either be in business or have a loyalty card. All seats had a water bottle on arrival and blankets and pillows were given out to those that wanted. There is IFE in the form of overhead screens in my case playing Harry Potter. There was a drink service with peanuts served after take-off and then a full food service with salad, choice of hot main courses, Haggen Dazs ice cream and roll. Quality was OK.

Survivor flew Dragonair Economy, on a A330-300 (12/10/2009 14:29)

Though Dragon Air has multiple flights a day to key cities in China, their schedule time for departure is rarely on time. From my frequent travels with the airline, I have learnt that taking the first flight out keeps me on schedule.

Cabin service is really good but the entertainment system is ancient ... always bring a good book because the magazine selection on board is mainly in Chinese.

Great airline for commuting between HK and China. Punctual, efficient and consistent service. Cannot say the same for HK-Phuket route where they use smaller Airbus and full of screaming kids going on holidays.

Braveheart flew Dragonair Economy, on a A320-200 (01/02/2009 16:13)

Hong Kong-Manila. Seat 42A. On my online check-in, 42A appeared to be the last row of a cabin section, which I often prefer, but in fact there are no such divisions on board. In any case, flight was only about 40% full and I had the three-seat row to myself. I had one carry-on bag so check-in was brief and cheery. This is an older product flying this route, no IFE, but perfectly OK for the short hop to the Philippines. Service was fine but nothing exceptional and timewise we were pretty much to schedule.

SHANGHAI - HK: KA 891: check in - efficient, good service. KA lounge in Shanghai is modern and confortable. Not a great choice of refreshments or papers/mags - all in chinese language. Boarding - fine no problem. Seat 12K - window seat. The seat was actually broken as it was loose and the buttons didnt work properly - but it wasnt a huge problem, still enough room to relax.

Vegetarian food was not great at all, didnt get to see the regular menu so cannot comment. Also no individual TV set, so actually impossible to watch from my seat - this aircraft must have been older than the aircraft flight KA800 HK - Shanghai... this plane was newer and much better.

All in all good service from KA, aircraft a little shabby.
