On Dec 30, 2011, my family flew on Cebu Pacific Flight 5J 915 from Manila to Caticlan to go to Boracay for New Years. My wife and I were seated in Row number 1 directly behind the cock pit.
Due to events on the flight, we accidently left a digital camera sitting in our seats when we exited the aircraft. All individuals on the flight exited at the rear of the plane ahead of us. We were THE LAST PASSENGERS to get off. The only individuals left on board the flight were the pilots, flight attendants and cleaning crew.
We noticed that our camera was missing almost immediately after while getting our bags. We spoke with the Caticlan airport Cebu Pacific representative. He attempted to talk to the plane staff but said that the plane was preparing for departure and nothing could be done. However, he would forward our information to the manila office for follow up.
Over the next few days in Boracay, we had several phone calls from the Caticlan Cebu Pacific rep only to say there was no new information. Our case was still being investigated.
We returned to Manila on January 4, 2012. We filed a notice with the office Cebu Pacific office on arrival in terminal 2 and spoke to a manager. He said that the matter would be investigated. We never received one phone call or one email from Cebu Pacific in the month that followed the filing of this report.
When you travel domestically in the Philippines you have many options; Philippine Airlines, Zest Air, Air Phil Express, Seair and others. Only take Cebu Pacific if it is absolutely necessary.

I would recommend Cebu Pacific if you are after cheap airfare. They often have promotions that make travel very affordable. Of course don't expect much for punctuality and other perks. I have experienced delayed flights for more than 2 hours on Cebu Pacific. They also don't provide food. Seats are also quite tiny. If you are tall or big request to be seated at the bulkhead. They try to be a fun airline by incorporating games and dance gimmicks but personally I don't like all the raucous. I want peace and quiet. There was also one instance where they had to weigh each passenger for a certain flight. Talk about the indignity. But I guess it was a small plane and it was done for the safety of the passengers. Service is not bad and the service crew are friendly.

The UK just issued a warning not to fly any airline based in the Philippines, including Cebu Pacific. http://www.fco.gov.uk/en/travel-and-living-abroad/travel-advice-by-country/asia-oceania/philippines

Cebu Pacific is horrible! You get less than what you pay for in terms of service and personal relations. My family has been a costumer for Cebu Pacific for 5 years and from the second year up to this year we experienced ridiculous treatment from Cebu Pacific.
On the second year we purchased Cebu Pacific a crew member (stewardess) shoved our fragile baggage into the compartment when we asked her to gently lift it into the compartment. When we got to our destination, the "CAKE" was damaged extensively at one side.
On the second year of our flight with Cebu Pacific my mother was charged extra for purchasing tickets on a date which was booked wrongly by the staff at one of their offices at Makati. So instead of saving money, she spent more than what she could have spent for regular priced flights. On the third year we purchased tickets from Cebu Pacific, we had trouble getting back to Manila from the province because the airplane that Cebu Pacific sent for us was a small one and could not accommodate all passengers.
There is absolutely no sense in this! We had to demand that they give us, and many other affected passengers, the flight that we paid for because we had important commitments the next morning but only my companion and I received seats. The rest of the passengers, around twenty or more, were left to suffer the irresponsibility of Cebu Pacific.
Finally, just this December 22, 2009 I witnessed corruption amongst members of their "Security", mainly involving the "Lady Security Head". I had witnessed the "lady security head" being paid a roll of P100 bills by an "Asian Nationality" just so he could pass through the check point and take his "unsealed alcoholic beverage" into the airplane. One of them even almost dragged my mother by the arm forcing us to go to the office to report what I saw . Because of such harassment I lost my temper and screamed at the security to let go of my mother telling them "How dare you touch my mother in the arm?"
We warned them that we will report this case immediately in our own means and that any harassment will never be tolerated. This is why I have never appreciated Cebu Pacific. It is simply fooling people by promoting cheap fares at the expense of absurdity! Four offenses in a row is too much!

Originally scheduled to be on one of Cebupacific's A320s, I was unsure of this turboprop plane. What a delight the seats are wonderful and I am a big man very comfortable. The cabin feels like a standard short haul jet. The noise levels may even be less then a 737 about comparable to the A320. Good overhead luggage racks no complains actually enjoyed this flight.

Identical to the A320 except for number of seats, so satisfactory.

For short haul, the seat was good considering it was only a 70 or so seat aircraft. There were no marks or other damage to the seat.

Excellent look and design for a cheaper airline, but recline seemed to be absent.

I was once on a flight of this airline leaving Hong Kong for Manila, which was supposed to have left 10 in the evening on a Friday night, but due to some snaffu in Manila ended up departing at 3 in the morning! (Oh well at least I didn't have to contend with the traffic, and was home after clearing immigration and customs in under 30 minutes.) This flight I took also left at 10pm but on a Thursday, and this time, there were no hassles. The only inconvenience was not being make use of the Airport Express city check in service because 5J (Cebu Pac's airline code) doesn't have a presence there. I guess that's to keep costs down, and after all it is a low-cost carrier. I made the mistake once of heading for the Airport Express only to find out that passengers had to check in at Chek Lap Kok. Boy, was I annoyed! Since seats are assigned, I make sure to request for an aisle or window seat in the very front row (the configuration is 3-3) as a)it's near the washroom and b)I can be the first to get off and be the first at the immigration line. (You would want to be as Manila immigration officers are not known to be quick operators. My goodness, it's always bedlam, especially at NAIA 1 when several flights land simultaneously. A few months ago, I landed the night before my birthday to find so much congestion at immigration that by the time I was handing an official my passport, I had turned a year older. I kid you not!) With no seat in front of me to store my bag/laptop under, I put it in the overhead compartment where there is always lots of space, but make sure to put my bag gently on top of the laptop case as a warning for others not to place their stuff on it. Woe betide anyone I find doing so – some people can be so inconsiderate of their fellow passengers. Okay, so this LCC has little service frills - the seat leather feels quite hard and food has to be purchased, although I have never seen the crew stop anyone from munching on their own baon (Tagalog for provisions), but the young and extremely courteous staff make up for the elan of the legacy carriers or even the richer LCCs of Singapore and Malaysia. They show all the famous character traits Filipinos are known for: friendliness, cheerfulness and respect. After selling the foodstuff (stay away from the sandwiches though, they can be tasteless), they're quick to clean up. I must single out the air-conditioning on Cebu Pac flights - it's like being in a chiller. I learned my lesson on previous flights and now bring socks and a jacket to protect myself. Oh, and the pilots are superb by the way. (This also goes for pilots of Philippine Airlines) Their landings are always as light as a feather.
