Cathay Pacific is upgrading its business class seating across the entire long haul fleet.
Old business class seat
The old or existing business class cabin, which can be seen here, features fully flat beds, with the seat converting electronically into a 78-inch long by 23.5-inch wide bed. There is also a two-way massage function and lumbar support.
Other features include a 15-inch screen with noise-reducing headset, storage space and a 110V AC power supply. Business class seats are fitted in a herringbone layout, giving each passenger unrestricted aisle access.
New business class seat
The new business class product, which can be seen above, is being rolled out on both the B777-300ER and the A330 and the old product will remain on the rest of the fleet. The new seat reclines to fully flat with extra width when sleeping. The seat has a lie-flat length of 82 inches (just over 2 metres) and features extra personal storage space. The seat, once reclined offers greater pricvacy than the old product.
The seat also features a 15-inch TV with Audio and Video on Demand with a rotating library of 100 movies, 500 TV shows, 888 music CDs, 22 radio channels, and 70 games – and with 9 languages represented with a noise-cancelling headset assures a more enjoyable listening experience.
The entertainment control panel includes a multi-port connector that lets you connect your own electronic devices, including the iPod and iPhone, and stream audio and video content to your personal TV display – which you control through your own device.

seemless as always - had the usual I fly twice a year with you moaners demanding everything from the crew, I just ate in first class lounge and then got on board and slept the whole flight, had to be woken up for landing more

I have flown Cathay business class from Amsterdam to Melbourne a couple of times in the last few months and have now experienced both the 'old' style angled seating arrangement and the newer, straighter version.
