bmi makes a distinction between its short-haul and medium-haul flights, and this distinction is carried over into the type of seating you will encounter onboard.
Airbus aircraft equipment may therefore vary across domestic, Western Europe and destinations to North Africa and Asia. Short-haul Airbus aircraft however, within the UK and Europe have a 32" seat pitch in both business and economy.
Business class passengers in a separate cabin receive complimentary newspapers and magazines, free refreshments appropriate to the time of day and are eligible to qualify for double bmi's frequent flyer miles in its Diamond Club programme. There is a complimentary bar service including Champagne (not on UK flights),
Moscow-bound business passengers have a 41" seat pitch and a personal in-flight entertainment player with a seven inch touch screen.

I travel on the Heathrow/Baku or Baku/Heathrow once a month. The flights hardly ever take off on time but waiting in the BMI lounge is very pleasant. The food and drink is plentiful and of decent quality. The seats have recently been re-upholstered in leather and are quite comfortable, the flight can take up to six hours so they need to be. BMI staff at check in at a hang up about excess baggage. She refused to check in our hand luggage despite the fact that our suitcase was only 12 Kg and the hand baggage came to only 7 Kg more
