Asiana is upgrading business class on its long-haul aircraft to offer a contemporary-looking cabin with the same cream and beige decor as first class.
On Airbus A330s and Boeing 777s, the seat pitch is 60 inches, while on others it varies between 50 and 58 inches. The new seats recline almost flat - 167.7 degrees, and have 15-inch seatback TV screens offering an AVOD system with up to 30 films. Seats also have a 110-volt power point.
Note, however, that refitted 777s do not offer AVOD, so it is luck as to which entertainment system you will get.
E-mail and SMS messaging can be sent from the personal keypad for US $1.5 each time. Satellite phones are also fitted, which costs $1.33 to $2 per 10 seconds. Fax services are also offered.
Food service includes a choice of Western, Korean or Chinese dishes.
NB: Superstition means there is no row 13 on any Asiana aircraft.
