Arik Air's long-haul aircraft are new Airbus A340-500s which were originally destined for India's Kingfisher Airlines. They are fitted with a 2-4-2 seating layout and offer a 34-inch seat pitch, three inches more than British Airways and Virgin Atlantic, which also fly the London-Lagos route.
Seats have individual 10.2-inch seat-back screens with a full AVOD system offering films, TV and audio programmes. Seats also have power points.
In-flight service includes a choice of two main courses - African or international dishes - plus alcoholic and soft drinks. Passengers also benefit from a 60kg baggage allowance and can take another 10kg into the cabin.

I find Arik Air very comfortable & convenient. The fact that you have connecting flights from Lagos to other cities is fantastic and is one of the reasons I fly with you. The kilo allow is also very attractive. As it is a long haul flight having the leg space helps with being able to stretch ones legs, especially if one has pains. In the past used to frequently patronize BA & VAA. But after Arik Airways commenced operations from LHR, I have never looked back, I have flown them 7 times now, and my eighth time on July 1st.
