I have flown with Air Asia X last year in March 2010, Perth to Kuala Lumpur. I had the best time on the plane. The food was great, the flight was smooth. But unfortunately 2hrs into the flight I actually suffered a miscarriage, one of the Air Hostesses saw come out of the toilet crying and the whole team were fantastic. they kept checking up on me and comforting me throughout the whole flight to Kuala Lumpur. but that didnt stop there, when we got to our hotel at the Sunway Lagoon Resort Hotel, the staff noticed that I didnt look too well and I explained that I just lost miscarried my baby on my flight there. The Hotel staff were great, including the Hotel Manager who offered to sent to the University Hospital to get checked out, of course the Hotel will pay for everything. I kindly declined the offer. But even though I declined their offer to go the hospital the hotel staff and the hotel manager kept checking up on me making sure I was ok. They gave me one nights free accommodation. I swear that If i ever go back to Kuala Lumpur I will be staying at that hotel and of course I will fly there with Air Asia X. I always recommend to anyone going to asia or to europe, I tell them to fly with Air Asia. I recently booked a flight for my dad from Perth - Kuala Lumpur - Paris for only $1100 return, plus an extra $30 for a hotel near the airport and $100 for internal flights Paris to Italy. I got abit jealous that my dad was going on a trip, that my lovely husband brought me the same plane ticket. So now I will be off to europe flying with the worlds best airline AIR ASIA X. No wonder why they keep winning awards for being the best airline, the service is 1000%, the food is amazing and the whole flight was great. maybe I should be Air Asia's Ambassador.

Flew KL to Stansted in October and returned in November 2010. The seats were wonderful. Comfortable in either daytime or sleeping positions (although for sleeping I found being on your side more conducive to sleep). The free hot meal was tasty, and the purchased food items were inexpensive. We recommend that people invest in their own media player as the rental unit was limited with the number of movies it held The power in the seat was a great boon to allow for entertainment for the entire journey.

Service was impeccable at both check in and on the plane, and with the new arrangements to transit at KL instead of picking up one's baggage and checking in again for the next leg was also very welcome.

There is a Priority Pass lounge in the KL low cost terminal if you are a member, other wise there is plenty of other food and drink options.

Baggage also has priority (although not always reliable)

All in all a very relaxing journey. It is my hope though that the prices do not rise due to popularity, otherwise there may be some better options with other airlines.

Did Premium seats from Perth to KL in late October 2010. For the price it is brilliant. The Classes information for this airline is out of date, The seats are lie flat (on an angle) and about 20in wide. Very comfortable positions for day time and night time flights. Staff are friendly and attentive. We could not fault the service. The fear is that it will become too popular and prices will rise and become too expensive. We took our own media player as the rental unit seemed to only have old programs on it.

Gold Coast to Kuala Lumpur and return ... If you really want to save some money and maybe live near to the OOL airport, this could be the one to choose. But if you want some space for sitting (forget sleeping) and some half way decent food and not have to pay for it, then def. Air Asia X is not for you. I tried it but will go back to a full service airline (even in premium economy) next time. This is an airline for backpackers, or those on a strict budget in economy class. It is not for a business class passenger.

Murphiee flew Air Asia X Economy, on a A330 (07/07/2009 07:26)

Very cramped and tight. 31 inches is not good enough, just because it's a no frills airlines, doesn't mean we get treated as animals. The food we were tricked into buying, a hotdog about 7cm long, and so artificial that it is obvious it has been microwaved and it is really unpleasant to eat.

Cracking service. London to KL seats are material not leather. Departed on time and arrived back on time. AirAsiaX were excellent! Before confirming your booking good to check you have a good prive with Malaysia Airways as they are often matching AirAsiaX prices and offer a more with their business class offering such as free food, lounge and drinks etc

The A330 aircraft now have 28 seats in XL class, configured 2/3/2. Pitch and seat width have been reduced considerably on the new aircraft to increase seat capacity in Economy. Premium Economy on major airlines is a better option now. Food and drink (pre ordered or bought on board at a higher price) is mediocre at best. Poor sized prtion in a foil tray and only 1 western type meal as choice. In flight entertainment in seat back screens show movies at least 2 years old and the selection is very limited.

No longer an option for value for money. Get Premium Economy thru a consolidator and you'll be better off. And you dont have to pay for food, seat choice, blanket as you do on Air Asia X.

I'm going back to Air New Zealand.
