Air India Express (airline code IX), is a low cost airline and subsidiary of Air India. It mainly flies to the Middle East and South East Asia.

Ownership

Air India Express was founded in 2004 as a subsidiary of Air India. Air India Express is now part of the National Aviation Company of India, which was formed as part of the merger between Air India and Indian Airlines.

Route Network

Air India Express's operations focus on Southern India. Its hubs are at Kozhikode (Calicut), Kochi (Cochin) and Thiruvananthapuram (Trivandrum).

It operates mainly within a four-hour range of major cities and most of its routes are domestic, but it does serve the Middle East, Singapore and Bangkok as well as Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.
