Air China (airline code CA) was founded in 1988 in Beijing and is a Star alliance member. It has a fleet of 224 Boeing and Airbus aircraft and is China's flag-carrier. To see its main international page, click here.

Ownership

In 2006, Cathay Pacific struck a deal with Air China whereby the two carriers own a stake in each other. Air China has about 17.5 per cent of Cathay and Cathay a 20 per cent stake in Air China. The rest of Air China is owned by the Chinese government.

Air China is based in Beijing and flies to 120 destinations. Routes include 22 countries and 36 international cities plus 70 domestic cities. Air China's main hubs are Beijing, Chengdu and Shanghai Pudong airport. To see where it flies, click here.
