Economy seat pitch on Air Canada's short-haul fleet varies according to type.
The Embraer 175 is the most generous, with most seats being 32 inches, but a good-sized section also offers 34 inches. The bigger Embraer 190 however, offers a standard 33".
On the Airbus fleet, the A319 and A320 offer 31-32 inches and the bigger A321 a uniform 32 inches.
Food and beverage service depends on how long the flight is and how much you paid for your ticket.
The OnBoard Café is offered in economy on most flights of 90
minutes or more within Canada, between Canada and the US, Bermuda,
the Caribbean and Costa Rica. It offers a variety of snack items for sale on
flights between 90 minutes and two hours and a selection of meals for sale on flights of two hours or more.
OnBoard Café is available for purchase when travelling in Economy Class on eligible flights booked with the Tango or the Tango Plus fare option. When travelling on flight booked with the Latitude fare option, a complimentary snack and a complimentary meal item are offered. A code (LT07) will be printed on the boarding pass indicating to the flight attendant that a Latitude fare is booked.
Also, when travelling on a direct international flight that stops en
route in Canada, a complimentary snack and a complimentary meal item
are offered on the domestic portion of the flight. A code (PR07 or
SPML) will be printed on the boarding pass indicating that travel is
taking place on both domestic and international portions of the flight.
In all cases, alcoholic drinks have to be paid for at Can $6 each.
Unusually, all Air Canada's short-haul fleet has seat-back video screens with on-demand entertainment featuring 80 hours of film and 50 hours of audio.
