Air Berlin (airline code AB) is Germany's second largest carrier after Lufthansa.
Ownership
Air Berlin is a publically-listed company, with over 60 per cent of shares held by German shareholders. It owns 24% of Niki, the Austrian charter airline, 49% of Belair, a Swiss charter carrier and took over German charter and budget carrier LTU in 2007, taking Air Berlin into long-haul for the first time. Etihad Airways became the airline's largest shareholder in December 2011 when it increased its stake in the carrier to 29.21 per cent.
Route Network
