furball flew Air Astana Business, on a B757-200 (09/12/2008 16:37)

I took this flight from Beijing to Almaty, leaving at 1225. The seats belong to the cradle type generation with with four controls to alter the leg rest, recline, lumbar position and cushion width. Since I am of small size, I found the seats extremely roomy. The duvets they handed out to us later in the journey were rather overwhelming but they did keep us warm.

I was given seat 1A, and since the flight was not a full one, 1B was left unoccupied and gave me space to dump my paper work (I managed to do some writing) on. In fact, it seemed the few passengers in business class almost all had empty seats next to them. The washroom was comfortably near by.

I was impressed by the warm and attentive service of the crew, especially the male steward who noticed little things that I needed, even ahead of my realising I needed them. Like the Financial Times. Some of my friends were worried that Air Astana wasn't a safe airline, but I never worried, not once.
